Hinchey to Speak at Green Future Event Tonight

Here’s an update from Sustainable Hudson Valley’s Melissa Everett regarding tonight’s event at BSP on Wall Street:

Friends:

The volunteers who helped elect Obama have not vanished; they have morphed into a Hudson Valley Progressive Coalition (and related groups). They have approached Sustainable Hudson Valley with an incredible offer, to help us build a base of support for local green job creation initiatives.  While the funding and policy situation is still extremely fluid, we have an opportunity this evening to outline a strategy that builds on the Green Jobs Pledge endorsed by the US Conference of Mayors, and then systematically helps communities that take the pledge, to green their building codes, energy systems, landscape practices and more, using local products and services to grow local jobs.  It’s a “home grown recovery” strategy that has been coming to life…. And is ready to go public…

The event below will be even more exciting because we have just learned that Congressman Hinchey will join us at 7 pm SHARP to make some remarks.    So join us!!!!!!  And watch for more outreach events this spring.
